Tech from my book is going to be commercially available!

Like I said in my last post, I wrote a book. It’s set somewhere around 100 years into the future, and has corresponding advances in technology. Why am I telling you this?

Well, I saw this Engadget article today about the MYO armband. It senses motion and electrical impulses in your body to let you control Bluetooth 4.0 enabled devices. Not only is that freaking cool, but it also mirrors technology I employ in my book to control mechanized suits of armor.

I researched the tech for my book thoroughly, and got the ideas from various sources, like the Cyberdine Hal (which is a terrifying name). But the reason I’m so excited about MYO is that it’s going to be available on a consumer level for a fairly reasonable price ($150)!

As a Sci-Fi writer, it’s pretty damn cool to have the opportunity to buy something that uses tech from your book. Heck, it’s pretty cool to see the tech from your book become reality in general. Of course, that just means I’m doing my job right.

Let me (and others) know what you think
